About Us

Postal Discounters

Brad and Lori started Postal Discounters in 1995. After a few years, they found themselves in need of A LOT more space for the large machines that fold, insert, do inkjet printing & presort. That’s when they moved to their Steelton location. From mailings of 500 to 150,000 pieces, they are equipped to handle them. Brad had owned and operated a service station for 20 years and Lori had a background that gave her a unique understanding of the Postal Service and how to maximize savings for their clients. Together, they make a team that works.

They decided to embrace the digital world, but have made sure to apply the same principles they had been using in the direct mail world. Getting the right message in front of the right audience in the most effective and affordable way is still their goal.

Brad Keim

Brad’s first career was owning Keim’s Gulf Service Station on Jonestown Rd and later at the corner of 29th St and Rudy Rd in Harrisburg. It was a full-service gas, repair and PA State Inspection Station. His ability to diagnose and fix mechanical machines comes in quite handy at Postal Discounters. His business experience helped to turn an idea into a business. His attention to detail helps to keep things running smoothly in the shop. Running a business doesn’t allow for a lot of vacationing; but when he gets the chance, you will find him on a beach or on the water; sometimes with Lori and sometimes they take their children and grandchildren along. He and Lori have been married since 1982 and are active in the Marriage Matters Sunday School Class at Christian Life Assembly, where Brad runs the video and sound for weekly lessons.

Lori Keim

After seven years with the United States Postal Service, Lori eventually found herself selling mailing equipment and consulting with businesses; educating them about the postage savings. One day she shared an idea with her husband, “we should buy that equipment and do mailings FOR them!” Jan 1st, 1995, Postal Discounters was born. She genuinely enjoys working with businesses and nonprofits; investing herself in their mission and objectives. Being able to help others succeed gives her a sense of fulfillment. She prides herself on her “no waste” approach; defining a target when providing a list, and a multi-step process for cleaning up clients’ lists to make sure the right message gets in front of the right audience. When the digital age came along, she learned how to continue this targeted, no waste approach that puts digital advertising and CTV commercials in front of the same audience that receives the direct mail. She words hard; but makes sure she reserves time to spend with her children and grandchildren (who are growing up too fast for her liking!!). Her favorite vacations are spent with them anywhere that has a beach and sunshine.

Darlene Zeigler

Upon retirement from the Commonwealth, Darlene posted on Facebook that she was looking for a part-time job to subsidize her pension. Darlene and Lori have crossed paths at Christian Life Assembly for over 25 years. Lori reached out to Darlene saying, “I think I may be the answer to your prayers. I need a part-time administrative assistant.” Darlene began working for Postal Discounters in January of 2025. While her 35+ years of administrative experience has proven useful, the world of the postal system has been quite educational, learning that each job is unique and requires a different degree of understanding. As Lori puts it, “it’s the same…only different.” When Darlene is not at work, she enjoys spending time with her young grandchildren and camping with her husband, Mike, and their two small dogs, Rosie and Liza Mae.

Andrew Schlegel

Andrew is the videographer and graphic designer here at Postal Discounters. Graduating from Rochester Institute of Technology with a BFA in film production and a minor in imaging science, he has spent his fair share of time around the visual arts and sciences. Andrew loves to tell stories and work on anything artistic, including being in front of and behind the camera, being on stage, working on home-improvement projects, and performing music. Outside of work, you’ll find Andrew spending time with his family (mostly chasing his niece and nephew around), writing, directing or acting in a movie, singing, and being active. Andrew is ready to step in and fill whatever role he needs to fill to get the job done, and is always curious and interested in learning new things.
